Myrtle Murphy had everything she wanted out of life―a dead husband, a grown son who’d moved to the opposite coast and neighbors who minded their own business. But what she didn’t have was money. She needed a job.Already, the reader gets the feeling that Myrtle Murphy will stop at nothing to get what she wants. Just the stuff for a good read. I was hooked!
Strong characterisation of the ex-husband left me feeling he only got what he deserved. Then I thought 'Oh my goodness, I'm condoning murder?'
So perhaps I'd better keep my reactions to the short story to myself ...
A good free read.
By for now

I stumbled upon this when I was doing a vanity search...hehe.
I am so happy that my opening lines had this effect. It is exactly what I was hoping for.
However, I'm sorry to say that A Grave Error is no longer free. Amazon Shorts picked it up. The good news is it only costs .49 cents US. (I think I'm worth that...hehehe)
